Hockey Super League

The Junior Bigfoot compete in the Hockey Super League (HSL) — an elite, development-first league that brings together the strongest independent and academy programs across Western Canada. HSL play gives our athletes a real competitive schedule against high-level opposition, while the day-to-day training, coaching and standards stay inside the P3 Sports system.

The 2015 Jr Bigfoot play a full Hockey Super League schedule in 2026/2027.

Development and progression

Built for development

Team systems, position detail and compete habits are held to a true competitive standard.

Athletes begin owning their preparation — training, recovery, school and their role on the team.

Hockey Super League play and integrated academy days at Apex Academy create a daily rhythm of training, school and competition that mirrors the next level.

Ryan McKay, Head Coach

Head Coach

Ryan McKay

Ryan McKay brings extensive coaching experience across all levels of hockey, from U7 through to Junior A. His coaching background includes roles at the grassroots level as well as serving as Head Coach of Jr A Chaos in the AJFHL, where he implemented structured development within a competitive team setting. His experience across age groups allows him to understand both the early stages of development and the long-term progression required for players to succeed as they move up levels. Ryan runs high-tempo, high-repetition practices focused on puck touches, decision-making, and confidence-building. He creates an environment where players are encouraged to make plays, learn through experience, and develop a strong feel for the game. As Head Coach of the 2015 Jr Bigfoot team for the 2026/27 season, Ryan operates within the Development phase of the P3 Pathway, building the foundational skills and habits that support long-term growth.
